CHARM Ministry

The “brainchild” of Sister Rhonda McIver-Jackson under the direction of the Children’s Ministry Coordinator, Sister Crystal Daniels, Unspeakable Praise Dance Team was first formed to dance for the Children’s Day Program at New Hope in 2015. Brought back by popular demand in 2016, this talented troupe of young mime performers was originally comprised of three young men and four young women ranging in age from 4 to 17. Choreographed by Reverend Bronica Martindale-Taylor, the group was expanded to include praise dancers. In 2017, the dance team was recognized under CHARM (Christian Arts Ministry) by Dr. Michael A. Owens.

The dancers have been worshipping God with performances throughout the Inland Empire for Loveland and Ecclesia churches, SBUSD, IEMWMW, IECAAC and New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, just to name a few. They have received certificates from the State of California Legislature (Senate and Assembly), both the County and City of San Bernardino, and various civic groups in recognition of their service and dedication to our community.

The liturgical dance is an infusion of modern jazz, hip hop, ballet and mime syncopated to the rhythms of spirituals, contemporary gospel and negro anthem songs. The white masked mimes and rhythmic movements of the praise dancers capture the freedom of praise in a charismatic way evoking emotions of praise and worship to the Glory of God by those witnessing.

The Unspeakable Praise dance practice is held on Sundays at 9 a.m. or after Wednesday Bible Study once weekly. They perform at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church once monthly on the 2nd Sunday at the 10 a.m. church service.
